The 2nd edition of the conference PHYTRA will be organized by the Mo-roccan Association for Nuclear Engineering and Reactor Technology (GMTR) with the collaboration of the National Centre for Energy, Sci-ences and Nuclear Techniques (CNESTEN) after the resounding success which the first edition PHYTRA1 held in 2007 in Marrakech city had met. As for the previous edition, PHYTRA2 is expected to be a primary inter-national event which provides an opportunity for researchers, academi-cians and practitioners in the field of physics and technology of reactors to gather, exchange ideas, and present original research contributions and best practices. Since the last edition, the interest for nuclear energy does not cease increasing and a great number of developing countries including Morocco expressed their intention to include the nuclear option in their national energy plans. A special session will be devoted to research reac-tors physics and utilization since Morocco is now operating a TRIGA Mark II research reactor. In addition, a new topic on Education and train-ing in reactor physics, which is of great importance for Morocco and other countries who intend to embark on a nuclear power program, has been included in the conference topics.

Conference Topics

  • Deterministic and Monte Carlo Transport Theory Methods
  • Reactor Core and lattice physics Methods
  • Physics and Computational Methods for Advanced reactors
  • Reactor Theory and Reactor Concepts
  • Neutron Kinetics and Dynamics
  • Criticality and Safety Analysis
